These terms govern your use of Autonomy, a self-publishing platform operated by Ever After Press ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the service at https://autonomy.everafterpress.co.uk, you agree to these terms.

1. The service

Autonomy helps authors write, edit, format, publish, and distribute their books, and (where you choose) schedule and publish promotional posts to social accounts you connect. We may add, change, or remove features over time.

2. Accounts

You must give accurate information when you sign up and keep your login details secure. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. You must be old enough to enter a contract in your country and at least 18 to use paid features.

3. Your content and rights

You own your manuscripts, books, cover art, and other content you create or upload. We do not claim ownership of it. You grant us only the limited permission needed to host, process, format, distribute, and publish your content to deliver the features you use. You are responsible for making sure you have the rights to everything you upload and publish, and that your content does not infringe anyone else's rights or break the law.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Autonomy to upload or publish unlawful, infringing, fraudulent, or harmful content, to abuse or attempt to break the service, or to violate the rules of any connected platform or distributor. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms.

5. Connected social posting

If you connect a Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok account, any posting or scheduling we carry out is initiated by you and is published to accounts that you own and control. You are responsible for the content you choose to publish and for complying with each platform's own terms. You can disconnect a connected account at any time from within Autonomy.

6. Payments, subscriptions, and refunds

Some features require a paid subscription or one-off payment. Payments are handled by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time to stop future renewals. Prices and plan details are shown in the app. Except where the law gives you a refund right (for example certain consumer cancellation rights), fees already paid are generally non-refundable. We will deal with refund requests fairly and in line with your legal rights.

7. Third-party services

Autonomy relies on third-party services such as Stripe, Google Cloud / Firebase, the social platforms, and distribution partners. We are not responsible for those services' own acts, availability, or terms.

8. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do our best to keep it reliable but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we do not guarantee any particular sales, reach, or publishing outcome. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of profit, data, or goodwill. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Termination

You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or if we need to for legal or security reasons.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
